Member Agreement & Club Rules

55 Seventy operates as a private members' Wine Cellar & Tasting Room (“The club”) in Dallas, Texas. Membership to 55 Seventy is intended for those who enjoy wine and wish to share in great company. It requires adherence to accepted standards of conduct and The Club rules to safeguard the use and enjoyment of 55 Seventy by its members and their guests. We reserve the right to modify these rules at any time for any reason. 

1. Your Membership Application

By completing and submitting your application for membership via our website or in-person, you agree to be bound by these Club Rules. Our membership committee meets as needed and admits new members when space is available. The Membership Committee shall have sole discretion as to the approval of applications for membership to 55 Seventy. Decisions by the Membership Committee are final and without appeal.

If your membership application is accepted, we will confirm this by sending you a 'Welcome to 55 Seventy Wine Club’ email. Your annual membership will commence on the date your welcome email is sent or, as in the case of pre-opening applications, the date on which the Club opens for business. You are free to withdraw your application at any time during the application review process. Initiation fees are not refundable and refunds of pre-paid memberships are issued at the sole discretion of the Club management.

2. Membership and Cellar Payment

Upon approval and/or renewal of your membership, your membership dues and initiation fee become payable immediately. By providing us with your payment details, you accept and consent to processing of your payment by 55 Seventy. It is within our discretion to amend the membership pricing structure at any time, and we will notify members in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date, or frequency of the payment of membership dues.

After the first year of membership, members will have the option to continue on an annual billing cycle or transition to monthly billing. Failure to pay annual or monthly dues (or any installment thereof) within 30 days of the due date will result in temporary suspension of all membership privileges. Members with an outstanding balance in excess of 30 days past due will not be admitted to The Club premises until the balance has been settled. Members with an outstanding balance in excess of 60 days past due are subject to termination of membership. Access to any contents of delinquent members’ storage lockers is subject to payment and may be withheld until settlement of outstanding dues. Members with outstanding dues in excess of 90 days are subject to liquidation to satisfy any outstanding balance. 

Resignation of club memberships must be submitted via email to Club Management. Resignation of monthly memberships require 30 days notice. Resignation of annual memberships require 60 days notice. Memberships canceled mid-billing cycle are not eligible for refund of membership dues. Initiation Fees and Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. 

3. Membership Credentials

Members should be prepared to provide their member ID number to the receptionist upon entering the Club. Members may also be asked to present their member ID number when opening a tab. Members may not give their digital credential or ID number to non-members for entry or use at the Club. Members should never use the membership credential or ID number of another member, with or without their permission. Please notify us immediately if your membership credential is copied or stolen.

4.  Bills and Payment

All bills must be settled in full before leaving The Club. There are no credit facilities. Members are responsible for their guests' bills; Unpaid bills will be charged to the member’s card on file with an automatic gratuity added in the amount that is the greater of  20% of the bill or $15.00.

5. Tipping Policy

We strive to offer the best service experience in Dallas by maintaining the highest quality of staff. We recommend the customary tip of 20% or more for purchases of food and wine in the club and $25 per bottle for BYOB. Our service staff is compensated on gratuities and your support is great appreciated. A 20% service charge and a $25 per BYOB bottle will be applied to all unclosed checks for F&B consumed in the club. This does not apply to off-premise wine purchases.

6. Large Party Reservations

"A Large Party” is considered any dining group with more guests than what is allotted in the membership and requires prior approval. Following are the guest allotments.

  • Social: 4 people total, including member

  • Reserve: 6 people total, including member

  • Executive and Founders: 6 people total, including member

A reservation through our event team is required for all large parties, seating is based on availability, and an automatic 22% gratuity and BYOB gratuity of $25/bottle will apply. In the event the party necessitates additional staff to execute the reservation, a minimum gratuity of $250 may be required. 

All parties that would like to reserve a specific space within the club, have custom menus, or have an anticipated attendance greater than 14 guests will be considered a private event and private event pricing and policies will apply.

7. Wine Cellar Access

Storage cellar access is only granted to members who maintain a current locker or walk-in cellar lease. Management reserves the right to deny entry to the cellar to any non-rental member or guest for any reason.

8. Guests and Children 

Members are permitted to bring guests as defined per the individual’s membership level. Please be aware that during very busy times, we may be forced to restrict guest count or may restrict guest access to certain areas of the Club. All Club Guests must be at least 21 years of age. Children and minors are not permitted on Club premises.

Guests of Club Members will not be admitted to the club without the member present. When possible, a member should arrive before their guests. At the discretion of Club Management, guests may be seated up to 15 minutes in advance of a member’s arrival. Guests may not remain in the Club after a member’s departure.

Members are responsible for ensuring their guests follow all Club Rules and policies.

Children are not permitted to use your membership and must be accompanied by a member at all times. 

9. Pet Policy

Pets are not permitted in the club at any time. 

10. Attire (Dress Code)

Members should adhere to a “smart casual” dress code and dress appropriately for the environment. The dress code may be modified for special events at the discretion of Club Management.

Athletic attire (sports shoes, sports clothing, tennis attire, etc.) and “athleisure” wear is not permitted.

Fashionable sneakers are allowed.

Swimwear or flip flops are not permitted. 

Jeans must be clean and dressy.

Midriff, crop tops, and overly revealing clothing are not permitted.

Baseball caps are not permitted.

Men's khaki or chino shorts are permitted during the Summer months.

Medical scrubs are allowed prior to 6:00 PM.

These guidelines have been set in place to better assist our membership in understanding the decorum, respectable conduct, and expectations of the club. Good taste and judgment should always be used in the absence of a specific requirement. 

Please note any decision regarding the suitability of a Member’s appearance will be at the discretion of the Club Management.

11. Privacy for Members / Guests

Members and their guests should be respectful of other members while attending The Club. Members may not solicit other Members or their guests while in The Club. We invite members to interact with one another and share wine. We ask that you do not disturb members who appear to be in an intimate conversation or attending a private event.

12. Sharing and Reciprocity 

The 55 Seventy experience is built on sharing and community. We endeavor to provide a venue where wine lovers can taste and share their favorite wines with others. As such, if a member offers you a taste of their wine, we strongly encourage you to reciprocate if possible. We understand that everyone has different tastes in wine and economic experience, so please use common sense when sharing with others. 

​13. Consumption and Service of Alcohol

While wine is central to the 55 Seventy experience, it is our expectation that all Members exercise good judgment with respect to consumption and their own limits. Disruptive behavior resulting from over consumption will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to conclude wine service to any member who appears intoxicated as determined by Club Staff. Although we are a private club, and our members may be consuming wines from their own collections, the service of alcoholic beverages must still always comply with all federal, state and local laws.

14. Mobile Phones

To protect the relaxed atmosphere within The Club, members may not take or make phone calls inside The Club, and phones should be set to silent mode. If necessary, calls may be made in the entry vestibule. Please ensure that your guests adhere to our phone policy. 

15. Cameras and Social Media

No professional cameras, videos or other professional recording devices, whether live-streaming or otherwise, may be used while in The Club without permission. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests also abide by this rule. 

 

Photography of your experience and guests is permitted. Please do not take photos of other members or their guests without their explicit permission. 55 Seventy reserves the right to share any photos taken within the club by a member or photographer. 

 

Media should be shared on social outlets in a positive way that promotes a socially responsible view of our members, their guests and the club. Management reserves the right to request removal of any publicly available social media content for any reason. 

16. Press / Social Media

The Club operates under a strict ‘no press’ policy. Members will be held accountable if they or their guests disclose or identify any other members or guests who are in The Club in the public domain, whether in any press or social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, other similar platforms and on personal blogs.

 

Members are prohibited from sharing negative media surrounding the 55 Seventy staff and experience in any press, review domain or social media platform. This includes but is not limited to Google, Yelp, Next Door, Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and other similar platforms or blogs. Members will be held accountable for the posts and publications of guests brought into the club and are additionally expected to assist in identifying and removing negative publications. Members are subject to review by the committee or termination based upon management's discretion of the situation.

 

All negative feedback should be directed to Club Management to ensure the situation is immediately addressed. We are here to provide the best experience possible and cannot do so without your help! 

17. Confidentiality

55 Seventy management and all staff members are required to adhere to the strictest confidentiality standards and pledge to maintain all records and personal information concerning the members and their guests in the strictest confidence.

18. Food and beverages

Please refrain from bringing any outside food to The Club, unless medically necessary. Certain exceptions may be made at the sole discretion of 55 Seventy Management. 

19. Private Hire and Maintenance 

We may at times close all or part of The Club to members and their guests for private events or for necessary maintenance, repair or redecoration work.

 

Where we close part of The Club for private events, please honor and respect the privacy of all private events occurring in The Club and refrain from communicating any information about the event to third parties in any medium.

 

Where all or part of The Club is closed for maintenance, repair or redecoration work, or where we need to withdraw facilities or services because we consider that they may pose a risk to the health or safety of our members, guests or staff, or that they are detrimental to the business, we will seek to ensure that any such area, facility or service is reinstated as soon as practicable.

20. Club Events

We love to hear what our members and guests get up to at 55 Seventy. Whilst you are a member or a guest at The Club, we may ask you to give your views of, and experiences at, 55 Seventy. We may also film, video or photograph our member events and activities in our Tasting Rooms for use in our membership programs, as well as advertising, promotions, public relations, and other commercial/business purposes. If you take part in these interviews or events, you agree to us using your name, image and limited other information. You also consent to us publishing any materials produced by, or for, us for any purpose without your further consent, and you waive your right to receive any payment from us in connection with such publication.

21. Accidents and Injuries

We want all our members and guests to relax and enjoy the activities and facilities available in our Tasting Rooms safely. Members and their guests agree to observe The Club rules and any signs published or displayed in our Tasting Rooms at any time; and to take reasonable precautions while using the facilities at The Club.

 

If a member or guest has an accident or suffers any injury at, or in the vicinity of, The Club, please report this as soon as possible to a member of 55 Seventy staff and, in any event, within 24 hours of the incident. As well as wanting to check on a member or guest’s wellbeing, this information is needed in order to help us comply with our health and safety obligations and for insurance purposes.

22. Illegal Drugs / Substances / Items

No member or guest shall purchase, use, ingest, possess, sell or otherwise distribute illegal drugs or other substances, or attempt to do any of the above with any member or guest while in The Club. No member or guest shall ask any 55 Seventy staff member for illegal drugs or other substances while on The Club premises, or in the immediate vicinity thereof. If any of the actions above prove true, the relevant member and/or guest may be removed from The Club.

23. Firearms

Absolutely no firearms are allowed on The Club premises. NO EXCEPTIONS.

24. Smoking Policy

All members and their guests are obligated to abide by The Club’s no smoking policy, and to all applicable no-smoking governmental laws, rules and regulations. No smoking (including e-cigarettes and vapes) is allowed inside The Club at any time. 55 Seventy reserves the right to prohibit or limit smoking in any area of The Club premises at any time at its sole and absolute discretion.

25. Disciplinary Procedure

Conduct by a member or guest that is prejudicial to the reputation and character of 55 Seventy is strictly prohibited and may result in suspension or termination of membership. Such conduct may include inappropriate, violent, or abusive behavior, or the communication of information concerning affairs of The Club, its members, or their guests to the media. An expelled member may not return to The Club as a guest. A refund of the expelled member’s subscription will be at the sole discretion of Club Management. Any member who willfully removes, damages or destroys any property belonging to The Club, to another member, or their guests on the premises of The Club, will be responsible for damages and may face suspension or termination of membership.

26. Club Staff 

We have built an experienced team of staff members who's mission is to deliver the best service experience in the city. We expect our Members to treat Club staff with respect and dignity. If a Member or guest has an issue with a Club employee, the matter should be addressed directly to the General Manager. A Member may at no time employ a Club Staff Member without prior written permission of Club Management.

27. 55 Seventy Trademark Rights

Members and their guests shall not use the names, logos, colors, trademarks, service marks, photographs, trade dress, or other identifying features of 55 Seventy and its affiliates (the ‘55 Seventy Marks') without obtaining the specific prior written approval of 55 Seventy as to the specific use.

28. Liability of 55 Seventy

All items brought into The Club are brought and left entirely at the risk of the member or their guests. 55 Seventy or its agents shall not be liable to any member or guest for any loss, damage or injury suffered by them or their property however caused, save in respect of death or personal injury to a member or guest to the extent caused by the negligence of 55 Seventy or its agents. 

29. Amendments to The Club Rules

55 Seventy may change The Club rules from time to time, by displaying notification of the change on the online member portal. Please be aware that the latest version of The Club rules are displayed on the online member portal.

30. Contracting Entity

Each member contracts with the 55 Seventy company that manages The Club, or such company as may be designated by 55 Seventy. 55 Seventy reserves the right to change the 55 Seventy company from time to time.
